The computer laboratory is a working environment. The following rules must be followed in the Computer Laboratory at all times:

  1. Eating, smoking or drinking is prohibited in the Computer Laboratory.
  2. A quiet working atmosphere (equivalent to a library) should be maintained. Foul language is expressly prohibited.
  3. Personal belongings must remain neatly stacked at all times. Discarded items will be removed to the Faculty Room.
  4. Do not adjust the blinds in the Computer Laboratory for security reasons.
  5. Do not damage any Lab equipment. You will be held responsible for damage that you cause.
  6. Unless you have specific permission from the System Administrator, do not remove software or any data files that you did not create.
  7. Do not modify system configuration or applications without the permission of the System Administrator.
  8. Do not change any wiring or connections in the Lab.
  9. Do not touch the monitor screens.
  10. Please inform a Lab Assistant if you discover or suspect that any Lab equipment or software is not working properly.
  11. Do not give out your computer account or provide the laboratory access security codes to other individuals unless specifically authorized to do so. The computer account is for your exclusive use only.
  12. If you have already finished your Lab work, do not forget to shut down your computer terminal.
  13. Plan your work BEFORE you go the Lab. Read through each lesson and carefully review the required material on the Lab Manual. Tremendous time savings can be realized if you think through the exercise before you actually sit down to do the work. Your consideration will be greatly appreciated.
  14. Do not leave piles of papers around a workstation if you are currently using it. Please remember to use the garbage can.
  15. No student shall be allowed to enter the Lab Room without his or her instructor or his/her substitute.
  16. A strict 1:1 computer unit to student ratio shall be observed.
  17. Instructor must allot 10 minutes before the time to allow the laboratory personnel to do housekeeping.
  18. Instructor must allot 5 minutes before the time for the inspection of mouse balls and for the checking if the keyboard and mouse are in the proper place. Loss of mouse balls shall be the responsibility of both the student and the instructor.
  19. Instructors shall orient their students with the basic use of the network and the laboratory house rules.
  20. Computer AVR must be turned-off after use.
  21. Any violations of the above guidelines are subject for disciplinary actions.
